If you enjoyed Sega AM2′s previous Arcadey trucker attempt, “18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker”, then you’ll really like “The King of Route 66″, the fun little-known Arcade-style “racing” pseudo-sequel originally released in Arcades (later released for PS2) developed by Sega AM2 and published by Sega in 2003. Featuring the same core gameplay as 18W but with more modes, stages, features (minus major parking challenges), and expanded “story”, the game is a nice title if you can find it. Playing as one of the original Asphalt Heroes of the original game, the goal of the main Arcade game is to run the evil trucker group known as “Tornado” (led by the sinister Mr. Crown) off of the once-prosperous roads of Route 66, originally known as the “Truckers Paradise”. You’ll do various tasks such as reaching designated areas within a given time limit, branching off into different routes (stages) by accepting different jobs, or racing rival truckers from the Tornado gang. The main game alone is longer than the previous 18W game and with a greater variety of locales, but TKoR66 added several extras to give you the most bang for your buck. For example, “The Queen of Route 66″ is a fun sub-game that can last longer than the main game with an alternate plot; you impress various beautiful women across Route 66 by doing a variety of tasks for them. In this mode, you can choose your favorite trucker (changing some events very slightly) and tackle missions as well as upgrade a character’s truck …

Between a Hollywood superstar and a voice actor, the latter actually works harder. It’s real tough for him to convey feelings and emotions while reading, fully knowing that he will not be seen on the screen. The voice actor must be able to empathize with the persona that he portrays and make sure that he breathes life into the script. It is in this area where voice over training is essential.

Voice over artists are able to learn the craft of voice acting and find good employment in this field by going through voice over training. Thousands of animated TV shows, cartoons, radio advertisements, web shows and movies are produced on a regular basis. Moreover, each movie/TV show has a cast of more than 20-30 characters. There are worldwide opportunities galore for a voice actor.

Voice over training course – the basic skills that you ought to possess

One of the most important tools of the trade is diction. The student must have perfect enunciation and therefore must attend speech classes to get his diction right. A voice talent would always have two roles to perform – the “acting,” and the “lending voice.” So, fantastic diction is not enough to start voice over training – the student must also enroll in an acting course before joining the voice over course.

What does a voiceover training program teach?

The student learns how to evaluate and interpret commercial copy for announcer and real-person roles. Interpreting narrative copy, as well as technical copy, are learned as well. Students learn to coordinate the mind, mouth and voice efficiently, so that they may be able to sound really true to the personality they are playing. Taking direction is also learned by the student.

A great voice actor training course makes students read, record, play back, listen, and then do it repeatedly until they get it right. Students warm-up and perform vocal exercises and learn strategies like timing, inflection, and articulation. They understand how to maintain their voice health. When students are already half-way into the voice over training program, they become competent at using and adjusting pitch, tone, volume and delivery speed to cater to numerous types of jobs.

Once a student completes the training, he learns how to market his skills, tap proper contacts, and land voice over work. The course instructors also help them produce a voice over demo for their portfolio. An opportunity to experience working in a real studio is offered in a solid voice over training course for students. They also learn what the do’s and don’ts are whenever they are behind the microphone or in a sound booth.

Choosing a voice over training course

There are two aspects to voice training. A commercial voice over course must be chosen by students who are interested in selling. Commercial voice overs are employed for selling. TV advertisements, radio ads, phone and other media feature these voice overs. The voice over course also addresses selling skills because all commercial voice overs sell a product or a service. This course does not include acting skills. Students who are interested in showbiz must decide on a TV and movie voice over and dubbing course. Such courses require lip-synching, and so the voice over actor has to learn acting skillsets too.

To end, all the world’s a stage and we must play a part. So, if you want to play your part as a voice actor, enroll for a reputed voice actor training course and learn how to raise your voice.

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 03, 2012

Chevy has hit the playing field hard with their hilarious 2012 Superbowl commercial, (http://www.youtube.com/user/robscig?feature=mhee ), titled ?The Happy Grad?. The showcasing of two parents, which the starring father figure being actor Robert Sciglimpaglia, revealing a graduation present to their son who is played by comedian Brett Sidell. In the commercial Sidell fails to realize that his parents gift is simply a small dorm sized refrigerator and instead only sees the yellow Chevy in front of him once his blindfold is removed. In an overly ecstatic rant and rave he begins screaming and racing around yelling the catchy lines ?Best Gift Ever? and ?Best Day Ever?. Actor and Norwalk resident attorney Robert Sciglimpaglia hilariously attempts to ease his wife?s worried response urging her to wait it out and calmly suggesting they let their sons rant run its course. He even tells her that their son seems to be running out of steam as he only becomes more and more excited. Robert towards the end waves to his confused neighbor Steve and says, ?Love the car?, who is in fact the real Chevy car owner. The memorable commercial will be airing on an ad slot in front of millions of viewers for 2012 Super Bowl Sunday.

The commercial was originally previewed during the NFC Championship Game and is the creation of 26-year-old Long Island film maker Zachary Borst. Out of 200 worldwide commercial submissions ?The Happy Grad? was chosen as the winner of the Chevrolet Route 66 video submission contest. The lively and hilarious piece will now air during the 46th Super Bowl between the Giants and Patriots. Chevy chose the commercial as it contained all the important elements the company was looking for: light-heartedness and a commitment to the Chevrolet name. In June of 2011, Robert Sciglimpaglia did an off-Broadway play with Jamie Kehoane, who recommended him for the slot of the father and now plays his wife in the new popular ad.

“Zach was amazing,” states Sciglimpaglia. “He pays such attention to detail, but he doesn’t micromanage. He lets the actors act. I did this little Vanna White thing where I opened and closed the refrigerator door. That was completely ad-libbed.”

Robert has previously appeared on numerous popular National Television shows including History Channel?s ?MysteryQuest?, two episodes of Discovery Channel?s ?Most Evil? (Manson and Gangs), a recurring role on A&E?s ?Watching the Detectives?, “Rescue Me”, as well as ?30 Rock.? He is also well known as the go to guy for voice over work and has done on camera or voice overs for: the LA Dodgers, Dean Koontz?s book, ?The Husband?, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Aquafina Water, GlaxoSmithKline, Mountain Dew, the CIA, the US Marines, Reebok, TGIFridays, Zales Jewelers, Doritos, XpressBet.com, Saratoga Raceway, The National Fair Housing Alliance/State Farm, Mercedes-Benz Fuel Cell Vehicle, AT&T, Avis-Budget Group, Educational testing services and many others. He is currently the voice of the NBC iPhone ?Your City? app, and several NBC News Local Affiliates stations including LA, Chicago, DC and Miami, as well as Tesoro Fuel and Knology Cable.

State College, PA (Vocus) October 6, 2009

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: WHAT: Lunch and press conference at Stepping Stone transitional living shelter

WHEN: Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Noon.

WHERE: Stepping Stone, 334 South Burrowes St., State College, PA 16801

All media are invited to attend.

A Vermont man running barefoot across America to raise money for homeless youth will take a break from his rigorous running schedule to visit the transitional living program at the Stepping Stone shelter on Wednesday.

Seeking to raise $ 100,000,000.00 to aid homeless youth, Tellman Knudson passed through State College on Sunday, nearly 300 miles into his 3,200-mile barefoot run across the country. He left New York City on Sept. 9 and hopes to reach Los Angeles by mid-winter.

Knudson will visit Stepping Stone and share lunch with its 8 residents, aged 16 to 20, and to learn about their program that stresses independent living skills. The lunch begins at noon, and all media are invited to attend.

“It’s one thing to provide shelter and food for homeless teens,” said Knudson on a break from his run in Mifflinburg, Penn. on Saturday. “But teaching them life skills and preparing them for the real world is hugely important. Stepping Stone is pointing kids down the track and, to me, that’s awesome.”

Knudson will receive a tour of the shelter and learn what upgrades are needed, eventually hoping to provide financial assistance for improvements.

“We’re so excited to host Tellman,” said Kate Sager, Stepping Stone’s director. “It’s going to be a great morale booster for the kids, to see that someone out there cares enough to run across the country with no shoes on.”

“The kids here all have one thing in common: they simply don’t have proper support and resources at home,” added Sager.

Residents of Stepping Stone are expected to finish a high school-level education and maintain employment. A portion of their income pays rent, and 30% is held in a savings account that becomes accessible when they leave the facility.

About Stepping Stone:

Stepping Stone is operated by the Centre County Youth Service Bureau and is primarily funded by federal grants. Its staff provides in-house life skill training in workshops that include career planning, money management, relationships, communication, job skills, health issues and housing. Stepping Stone is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare to provide services to males and females between the ages of 16 and 21. Youth who are accepted into the program can receive residential services for up to 18 months.

(PRWEB) February 06, 2012

The Ministry of Refugees, IDPs, and POWs of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) finds it rather hard to believe that all of the of the Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka have agreed to return to the country that persecutes them. As stated on February 3, 2012 in the Republique Togolais ?Togo Minister of Security Gnama Latta stated ?What do you do, we will not deport these people. We have shown humanity. Togo has a tradition of hospitality. We have received while waiting to see how to resolve their plight.??

According to the ?Daily Times,? ?the International Organization of Migration (IOM) stated that 164 of the group have decided to accept voluntary return and reintegration. They include nine who have already departed; the 28 who will depart on today and 45 who have signed voluntary return declaration forms?? Online Times also reported Mr. Dissasanayake of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Cairo, Egypt stating ?our embassy is in touch with the authorities in Togo, and it is a matter of time that the group will be able to return to the country.?

The TGTE Ministry claims ?this is far from the truth, as the refugees have not only been ill-treated and harassed in the detention center, but were forced to sign documents by Sri Lankan agents to return back from whence they came. Furthermore, the Ministry also stated, ?we believe that since Togos actions have been exposed, they are trying to sugar coat the situation by stating that they will not deport the refugees, but, instead will have them to sign releases stating that they will return back to Sri Lanka.? The Ministry also stated, ?It is highly questionable as to why Togo denied the UNHCR access to the refugees after December 25, 2011.?

Canadian officials have also joined in with the ?parley.? While Prime Minister Harper stated that the Canadian government will boycott the upcoming Common Wealth Summit in Sri Lanka, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews is currently in Togo negotiating the return of Sri Lankan refugees back to Sri Lanka. However, according to the Ottawa Citizen, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews, stated ?they fled Sri Lanka following the country?s recent civil war, and fear they may be killed if they?re made to return to their homeland. We will continue to work with allies overseas and ensure that human smugglers do not involve themselves and criminally take advantage of unfortunate people.? The TGTE Ministry, also, asks Toew, if he was really concerned about the welfare of the Tamil refugees, why he doesn?t allow them to seek asylum in Canada.?

According to the TGTE Ministry, through leaked sources from within the detention center, it was discovered that of the 5 to 9 who decided to return to Sri Lanka voluntarily, were planted amongst the refugees by the Sri Lankan government. According to the refugees and NGO activist groups from other countries, this has been a common practice since the end of the Sri Lankan conflict of 2009. Where after staying for a couple of months in a host country, they go report to the UNHCR or other local agencies and request to return back to Sri Lanka. This has a scheme by Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) to show the world that Sri Lanka is safe to return.?

The TGTE Ministry further stated that ?the twenty or more, who were the next to leave Togo, have done so against their own will, after three individuals were tortured by Sri Lankan agents posing as the IOM. Thus, the IOM is now saying that the rest of the 164 refugees willing have decided to return back to the land they escaped from. The TGTE Ministry countered that statement asking ?why would someone in the right mind take to the perilous seas or any other dangerous route to leave a country, only to decide to return from whence they came??

The Ministry further stated that, ?the bottom line is that the Tamils cannot go back to Sri Lanka since they are at risk of torture, rape, and extra-judicial killings as confirmed by Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch. The northern part of the country is virtually an open air prison for the Tamil population there. Canada should remove the Bill C-4 from Parliament, and lift the cap for 2012 for private sponsorship of refugees, as this primarily punishes those for seeking asylum. As for the international community at large, it is your duty to live up to what you call ?democracy? and ?human rights.? Stop demonizing Tamil refugees, and allow them refuge in your countries.?

The TGTE Ministry further stated ?as a signatoree country, your government must adhere to the rights of refugees. They should be released in your country, and allowed to carry UNHCR cards. Furthermore, Togo is signatoree to the Rights of the Child, which includes the children and infants amongst the Tamil refugees in your country. The refugees must be either resettled in your country, which is recovering from years of dictatorship, or sent elsewhere.

The barring of the UNHCR from visiting the Tamil refugees, and denying the refugees right to communicate freely with the outside world is exactly what Sri Lanka has been doing during the past several years, by banning media, and NGOs into Tamil areas of the islands northeast. Furthermore, collaboration of your government, the IOM, and the GoSL is no different than the Gestapo of Nazi Germany during WWII.?

Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) is a democratically elected body of the Tamil Diaspora from the island of Sri Lanka. TGTE held elections in 15 countries to elect Members of Parliament. The Parliament drafted and ratified its Constitution, elected a Prime Minister, a Speaker, and 10 Cabinets consisting of 10 Ministers and Deputy Ministers.
